WOK-32: Final Impressions for Complete Dentures

Procedures used to finalize maxillary impressions include use and rationale of border molding, development of functional reliefs and uniformity of contact over the bearing areas. Use of fluid wax to obtain a physiological postpalatal seal is also demonstrated. In part two, the mandibular impression described covers the maximum bearing area while developing buccal and lingual flanges that provide border sealing without restricting the physiological activity of adjacent structures. Resultant base will show excellent retention from vertical and horizontal forces. This tape was produced by the Veterans Administration.
